Ingredients

All you need are five simple ingredients to make these marshmallow krispies.

  • 16 oz Kraft caramels
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 sticks butter (1 cup)
  • 1 1/2 packages of large marshmallows
  • 1 box Rice Krispies cereal

Caramels: we use the Kraft caramels you need to unwrap. But have you seen the Kraft caramel bits? These will save you time without having to remove all the wrappers.

  • Dipping tool or fork
  • Parchment or wax paper

How to Make Caramel Marshmallow Rice Krispie Balls

Follow these simple steps to make this tasty marshmallow treat.

step 1 | Unwrap the Caramels

Unwrap the individual caramels. This is an easy job for kids. Skip this step if you are using the caramel bits for easy melting.

step 2 | Make the Caramel Mixture

In a large bowl, add the butter, caramels, and sweetened condensed milk. Melt in the microwave in small increments until smooth, stirring often.

step 3 | Dip Marshmallow in Caramel

Next, dip the entire marshmallow into the caramel mixture. We use a dipping tool we often use for dipping cake pops. You can also use a fork.

step 4 | Roll Marshmallow in Rice Cereal

Roll the caramel-dipped marshmallow in rice krispy cereal. You may have to press the marshmallow into the cereal to get it to stick and completely cover the caramel.

step 5 | Place on Parchment Paper

Place the rice krispy balls on a wax paper or parchment-lined cookie sheet to set.

Repeat until all of the caramel mix is gone. Allow the marshmallow krispies to set for about an hour.

Store in the fridge or freezer in an airtight container until ready to serve. They’re even delicious to eat frozen.
