Ingredients
Here are the simple ingredients you’ll need to make this delicious fondue.
32 ounces of chicken broth – low-sodium chicken broth or stock. Full sodium broth tends to evaporate more quickly.
1/2 cup white wine vinegar – we use Star white wine vinegar with a crisp and tangy flavor, but most brands will work well.
2 tablespoons garlic – fresh minced garlic cloves or jarred minced garlic.
1/4 cup green onions – diced fresh green onions. (Learn how to slice green onions.)
1 pound raw shrimp – peeled, deveined raw shrimp with the tail on or off. Large in size, reference our shrimp size chart.
Dipping sauces – see our list of favorite dipping sauces.
Should you use raw or cooked shrimp for fondue?
For an unforgettable fondue night, raw shrimp is the way to go. Unlike cooked shrimp, raw shrimp keeps its flavorful juices when dipped into hot liquid and doesn’t become tough. Plus, raw shrimp cooks very quickly in a fondue pot.
Variations to try – add 1) a splash or two of Worcestershire sauce, 2) freshly grated ginger, or 3) black peppercorns.
Supplies
- Electric fondue pot – the Cuisinart electric fondue pot is our favorite.
