Grandma's  Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies

These cookies are a holiday favorite. Crinkly and sweet outside, soft and chewy inside. Great for cookie exchanges and family gatherings!

What You'll Need

✓ Shortening ✓ Brown Sugar ✓ Eggs ✓ Molasses ✓ Baking Soda

✓ Flour ✓ Cinnamon ✓ Cloves ✓ Salt ✓ White Sugar

Mix dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves in a medium mixing bowl. Set aside.

Cream the shortening and brown sugar together in a large mixing bowl.

Add eggs and molasses to the mixture. Blend well.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until well combined.

Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to form dough balls. Roll each dough ball in white sugar.

Place onto a baking sheet, leaving at least 2 inches between each cookie. Repeat with remaining dough.

Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container.
