No-Bean  Chili Recipe

Craving chili but want something different? Try this hearty no-bean chili recipe made with wheat berries. You’ll love the classic chili flavor with the texture of this unique whole grain. It's easy to make and perfect for fall and winter dinners!

What You'll Need

✓ olive oil ✓ ground beef ✓ beef broth ✓ tomato paste ✓ diced tomatoes ✓ stewed tomatoes ✓ wheat berries

✓ onion ✓ garlic ✓ cumin ✓ salt ✓ pepper ✓ chili     powder

Add olive oil to a pot. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant and soft.


Add lean ground beef. Cook until most of the meat is browned.


Strain any grease. Add beef broth and stir in tomato paste.


Mix in the diced and stewed tomatoes. Don't drain them!


Time for flavor! Add chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.


Finally, add uncooked wheat berries. Bring chili to a boil, then simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour.


Serve with your favorite chili toppings like sour cream, green onions, and shredded cheese.
