- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp onion flakes
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cans of green beans
- 2 cups grated Swiss cheese (8-ounce block)
- 1 cup crispy fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter.
- Then, add the flour, salt, black pepper, sugar, and onion. Mix well.
- Add the sour cream and mix thoroughly.
- Cook over medium heat until it becomes thick and bubbly.
- Fold in the green beans and stir until coated.
- Pour the green bean mixture into a greased 1.5-quart baking dish.
- Sprinkle the green bean mix with shredded Swiss cheese.
- Then top with the fried onions.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Once the cheese is melty, onions are crispy, and the ingredients are heated through, it’s done and ready to enjoy!
Notes
- For a larger group, you can double this recipe and use a large baking dish. You will need to adjust the cook time accordingly.
