Gorgonzola Steak

Grilled steak, topped with a Gorgonzola butter mixture and then broiled to perfection.

  • Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lbs petite sirloin steak
  • steak rub (we used 5-0 rub)
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 8 oz Gorgonzola crumbles
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Instructions

Grill Steaks

  1. Prepare to grill steaks by pre-heating your grill on high.
  2. Coat the steaks on both sides generously with steak rub.
  3. Sear both sides of the steaks on high heat.
  4. Next, turn off the heat on one burner (or one side) of the grill. Move the steaks to the side you turned off. (This is called indirect grilling – food is placed to the side of the heat source.)
  5. Grill until desired doneness is achieved. Keep in mind that the steaks will cook a bit more when broiling.

Gorgonzola Topping & Broiling

  1. While you are grilling the steaks, you can prepare the Gorgonzola mixture.
  2. Add the garlic salt and pepper to the Gorgonzola cheese.
  3. Melt the butter and add to the Gorgonzola mixture. Mix all ingredients well.
  4. Top each steak with a generous amount of Gorgonzola butter.
  5. Broil the steaks on high in the oven. (Leave the oven door open while broiling.)
  6. The steak will be sizzling and the Gorgonzola topping will be golden brown.
  7. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can also pan fry the steaks instead of grilling.
